The sort of thing that should be regular
With the baby arriving, I was a little bit touch and go whether to go, and I had to beg and plead my wife to let me go. But it was brilliant, and I've come out of it being like, this is the sort of thing that should be regular. Being able to step away from the business, really think about what's going on, but also connect with other founders and talk about what's happening. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was brilliant. Very well timed for us.
More intentional than 4am on a mission
The retreat really is: let's just clear the plate here, and actually have these conversations that we were doing at 4am, but a little bit more intentionally.
Day 1 to day 3
I rocked up on day 1 of the retreat and in my head I was like, we've got so much going on… I was so close to pulling the pin. I put the Starlink in the car because I'm totally going to be working this entire time. And then I got there, and day 1 I was like, this is all that management lovey-dovey… Day 2 I was like, maybe it'll work. Day 3 I was like, give it to me. I've already rolled it out. We're already straight into it as a team.
